🔍 What's tracked
Form 3 — initial ownership statement (new officer/director)
Form 4 — change in ownership (buy, sell, award, exercise)
SC 13D — activist accumulation (>5%, intent to influence)
SC 13G — passive accumulation (>5%, no influence)
What this shows (always): live, company-level insider and activist filing activity — which companies have insiders changing ownership, which form, and when — straight from SEC EDGAR's public JSON API.
Full detail (local engine): the individual filing documents (insider name, officer title, buy vs. sell, share count, and price) live on SEC's Archives servers, which block in-browser reads. The self-hosted SignalDesk engine (edgar_proxy.py, port :8867) parses those documents server-side and feeds them here — start it with watchdog_edgar.bat to unlock the full tier locally. The same engine powers the premium tier for public subscribers.
🛡️ How the data works
Public SEC EDGAR records (data.sec.gov), fetched live in your browser with no API keys, no scraping of private data, and no middleman. Each entry links to the underlying filing on SEC.gov. Lag is always labeled. Not investment advice. SignalDesk reports what insiders and institutions disclose — it does not recommend any trade.
